I ran 3 miles again today!! I’m more sore today after running than I was yesterday! I usually take Sundays off, but I have to wait around in the morning for DTE to come and fix our oven tomorrow. They said between 8-12, and I figure they’ll come sometime around 10:00 which means I wouldn’t be able to make the gym. So I figured I would go today. Anyhoo, I wanted to be sure that yesterday wasn’t a fluke- one of those magical days where everything falls into place but never happens again. But I guess it wasn’t, because I did it again!

I seriously don’t want you to get a picture in your head of me running a full out sprint looking lean and mean or anything. when I say “run” I really mean jog. To me when I jog, it feels like a quick pace, like I’m running, but in actuality I’m really quite slow. But what’s fun about running on the treadmill next to someone, is that you feel like you’re keeping pace with a faster person. I run at like 4.5 mph, at 5′ 4″ and 223lbs, I feel like that’s about as fast as my chubby little legs can take me. The guy next to me on the other hand was easily 6ft and was running at 7.1mph- so much faster (longer legs = longer gait too), but I felt cool seemingly keeping pace with him. It took me like 41 min to do the 3 miles- lean mean people can finish it in like 30 min or less. Competitive people can do it in like 25 or less- Elite runners, well, I don’t want to even think about it, but maybe like 15 min? Don’t think I ever want to be there, but finishing it in like 35min without feeling like I was going die would be a major accomplishment for me! HELL, just finishing the 3 miles is amazing to me!!

Anyway, in othe news, I forgot to update you on the mouse situation in our house. Hubby did catch one with a sticky trap and took care of it. Since then, no sign of any other mice in or around our house. Not quite breathing a sigh of relief yet, don’t think I will do that until summer when we clean out the garage and seal things up .

Speaking of summer, it’s supposed to be like 50 on Thursday!! YAHOO! I told you spring was around the corner! No doubt it won’t STAY 50 for more than a day right now, but it is a taste of things to come! Like I said before, 40s are cool with me right now. All the snow will melt and hopefully we won’t get anymore!! Wishful thinking I think, but hey, we’ll get through it!

Punkin pie and hubby had a great time at AutoRama yesterday! They were out for most of the day and hubby said punkin pie did great! I was worried he might get bored or as with so many men, that hubby and grandpa would want to look at every single car in great detail, not recognizing they have a 5 year old with them who has a rather short attention span. But it sounds like everyone did great and a good time was had by all. Punkin Pie’s favorite part…

 

BUMBLEBEE!!!

He loves the transformers movie and his favorite character was Bumblebee. Hubby said the car was in really bad shape and wondered if it were actually drive-able! Not sure if it was the one from the actual movie or not, but punkin pie didn’t care. He got a picture with the car (the promotion people took a polaroid) and he got a T-shirt too. So he was happy as a clam after that!
